A large hospital system in Texas is seeking a Rehab Research Director to lead the strategic direction, scientific portfolio, and administrative operations of its medical rehabilitation research program. This role is well-suited to an accomplished researcher and administrator with a strong national reputation in rehabilitation research, a track record of securing federal funding, and demonstrated success leading scientific teams and programs.
What You’ll Do
Provide strategic and scientific leadership for the medical rehabilitation research program, setting priorities and long-term direction
Lead federal grant development and funding strategy, including identifying and pursuing relevant funding sources for rehabilitation research
Oversee scientific program and portfolio management across research initiatives
Design and guide research studies, including data analysis and preparation of findings for peer-reviewed publication
Mentor and develop investigators, fostering team leadership and research growth within the program
Build and maintain collaborative relationships across clinical, scientific, and institutional stakeholders
Manage program budget and resources in alignment with strategic goals
Represent the research program in executive communication and stakeholder engagement, both internally and externally
What We’re Looking For
Medical Doctorate (MD) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Seven (7) years of previous administrative experience as a program director, department head, and/or principal investigator
Demonstrated experience in federal grant development and funding strategy
Strong background in research design, data analysis, and scientific peer-reviewed publication
Proven experience in scientific program and portfolio management
Strong to outstanding national reputation in medical rehabilitation research, evidenced by a successful track record of federal research funding and a substantial body of peer-reviewed publications
Knowledge of funding sources specific to rehabilitation research
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships
