Operating Room Registered Nurse

About the Opportunity

A regional health system located in Western North Carolina is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join its surgical services team as a Circulating Nurse. This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering direct patient care throughout the perioperative process, ensuring a safe surgical environment across a variety of procedure types.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the circulating RN for surgical procedures, coordinating patient care before, during, and after surgery
• Prepare the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and functioning properly
• Monitor patient status throughout procedures, anticipating needs and responding to changes in condition
• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to ensure smooth procedural workflow
• Accurately document intraoperative care, including counts, medications, and patient status, in compliance with regulatory standards
• Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience
• Circulate confidently across a range of surgical specialties, including orthopedic, general surgery, robotic-assisted (da Vinci), and select OB/GYN procedures

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum of 2+ years of Surgery and Operating Room Circulating RN experience required
• Current North Carolina State RN License, or Compact License with North Carolina endorsement
• Must be comfortable circulating in orthopedic, general surgery, da Vinci (robotic-assisted), and some OB/GYN procedures
