NICU Pharmacist

About the Opportunity

A large hospital system in Texas is seeking a dedicated NICU Clinical Pharmacist to join their pharmacy team. This role provides direct clinical pharmacy services to critically ill neonates, collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary NICU care team to optimize medication therapy, ensure dosing accuracy, and support positive patient outcomes in one of the most vulnerable patient populations.

What You’ll Do

• Provide direct clinical pharmacy services to critically ill neonates in the NICU, including medication therapy management, dosing verification, and monitoring for efficacy and adverse effects
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, offering pharmacotherapy recommendations tailored to neonatal physiology and pharmacokinetics
• Review and verify neonatal medication orders, including high-alert medications and parenteral nutrition
• Support medication safety initiatives specific to the NICU population
• Collaborate with neonatologists, nursing staff, and other care team members to ensure evidence-based, individualized care
• Provide education to staff, families, and learners as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Completion of a PGY2 pharmacy residency in Pediatrics
• Candidates with a PGY2 residency in Critical Care and current, hands-on NICU clinical experience will also be considered
• Demonstrated NICU clinical pharmacy experience
• Active Texas Pharmacy License (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
