A well-established acute care hospital in Southern New Mexico is looking for an experienced nursing leader to step into the Director of Critical Care role. This facility serves as a major referral center for Southern New Mexico, with a robust critical care service line spanning adult ICU, cardiac critical care, and step-down units, backed by dedicated intensivist and hospitalist coverage. What You’ll Do

• Provide operational and clinical leadership for the Critical Care Unit, Step-Down Unit, and related critical care services
• Partner with intensivist and hospitalist teams to ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and budget management for critical care nursing teams
• Recruit, mentor, and develop critical care nursing staff, fostering a strong team culture
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and monitor key clinical outcome metrics
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and hospital policies
• Collaborate with other nursing and hospital leadership to support broader organizational goals
• Serve as a resource and escalation point for complex clinical and staffing situations

What We’re Looking For

• Current New Mexico RN license or Compact RN License
• Associate's Degree in Nursing Required
• Critical care nursing experience, including prior leadership or management experience
• Strong understanding of ICU/CCU operations, staffing models, and quality metrics
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills
